Our studios are in Knutsford, Cheshire on Princess Street (top street), the entrance is behind the Cafe Detaljer where you can grab a tasty brew and cake before your session.
Knutsford has easy links to Manchester and London by rail, and is 5 minutes off the M6 making it ideally situated for people travelling from Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham or even London.
Our opening times are 9:00am – 7:00pm, Monday – Friday, and these are the only time slots you will be able to book through the online form. If you require a session outside of these times, contact us as we may be able to accommodate your request.
We 4 x RODE PodMic XLR microphones, designed specifically for podcasting and vocal recordings. They are broadcast-quality dynamic microphones that provide a rich, full-bodied sound, mounted on a low profile mic arm for easy positioning and adjustments.
We have 2 x built-in studio cameras – Blackmagic Micro Studio G2 – that film in 4K Ultra HD, which capture directly to the control desk for fast workflows and file transfers.
Upon request, we also offer additional DSLR cameras for filming. We have a Sony A7Siii with 3 different lenses, and a Panasonic GH5 with 4 different lenses.
The studio has built-in honeycomb LED lights in the ceiling, and we have 6 x RGB controlled strip lights in the acoustic panelling. There is also a 220W continuous video light installed on the ceiling with a lantern light dome. We also have a number of floor lamps.
In the unlikely case that you would like more lighting options, we have also have an Amaran 100d with a bowens mount light dome.
Yes, regardless of which package you chose, we will always have someone present who is trained to perform all the technical aspects of your recording.
This way you can focus on your podcast and leave us to the technical bits.
You can book a session easily using our booking form. Just select the date you want and the package and make your payment. If your date isn’t available or you need the studio within 48 hours then please contact us.
When booking your session time please take into consideration set up and time to transfer files. Allow plenty of time for your podcast to be recorded including some time to chat before hand. The minimum time is 1 hour.
If you are planning on recording a multiple podcast episodes at once, remember to take into account some time for breaks between episodes.
The studio isn’t sound proof, but we’ve invested a lot into making it into a great recording environment. We have treated the door, floors and windows to block out environmental noise, and acoustically treated the walls to provide a dampening effect for that rich, broadcast quality sound. This combined with the high quality microphones we use, and the audio processing in the multi-track sound mixer, ensures an excellent sound quality.
Questions about the processes, workflows, and how it all works on the day of recording.
We provide all the equipment you’ll need to make your recording. If you haven’t chosen the optional extra of a file transfer via email, you’ll need a laptop or device capable of transferring the files.
You’re also welcome to bring in any props that you might want to use to personalise the space with your own branding.
You can arrive up to 10 minutes before your session, but please be aware that someone might be recording before you. Ideally, we would like you to arrive as close to your session time as possible.
If you do arrive early, there are three cafes next door (Detaljer, Cafe Nero & Costa – your personal preference!) where you can wait and have a coffee.
As soon as you arrive, send us a WhatsApp message and someone will come and meet you at the entrance.
All the audio is recorded on a RODE Rodecaster Pro 2 sound mixer. Each guest will have their own dedicated audio stream which be recorded as a separate file.
Video footage using the studio cameras will be recorded directly to an SSD hard drive. If you require the Blackmagic RAW files, these are saved onto dedicated SSDs connected to the cameras.
If you have opted to use DSLR cameras for filming, that footage will be captured on SD cards.
Depending on the duration of your session, some of the files might be quite large – particular DSLR video footage. Make sure you leave enough time to transfer everything within your session.
As soon as you’ve finished recording, we can connect the hard drives to your laptop and transfer all of your files.
If you’ve opted to have these sent to you via email, these will either be uploaded to a Google Drive folder for you to download at your convenience. These will be kept online for up 7 days.
Yes, you’re welcome to bring any additional equipment, cameras, lighting, laptops etc that you may need.
However, we would prefer you to use our microphones, as these are configured for optimal settings on the sound mixer.
Cancellations/reschedules must be made at least 48 hour before your session start time for a full refund.
Whether you want to edit everything yourself, or you need help with your content creation, we’re here to help you.
Although we use 4K cameras in the studio, the default recording resolution is full HD in .MP4 format. This is still a very good resolution and picture quality for online platforms like YouTube/TikTok/Instagram, and keeps file sizes and formats simple and manageable.
If you need a higher quality, the cameras can save 4K Ultra HD footage in BRAW.
BRAW footage is Blackmagic RAW, which is essentially a compressed version of RAW video format. It offers high-quality video benefits and editing flexibility, suitable for projects that require a higher quality of video.
Although these files can be very large, they are contextually quite small compared to traditional RAW video. To edit these files, you will need to use either DaVinci Resolve (the free version will work) as your editing suite, or install a free plugin for Adobe Premiere.

Editing is not included as standard in the sessions, but we do offer it as a service. This includes a “done for you” episode package and short form content editing, but you can speak to us about any requirements you may need, and we can provide you with options and costs.

If you would like the audio episode of your podcast edited, speak with a member of our team, who can provide you with options and costs.
We require up to 5 working days to complete the editing, although in most cases it will be far quicker than that.

The “done for you” episode package is £540.00 including VAT, which includes the full edited video and audio. Short form editing starts from around £90.00 including VAT depending the editing complexity. For any other requirements, speak to our team for information around options and costs.
We require up to 5 working days to complete the editing. We can offer a faster service of up to 2 working days for an additional per-episode fee.
Short form content can be turned around very quickly after the main episode has been edited.

Prices start from just £90 + VAT an hour for an audio only recording session, and £120 + VAT an hour for audio and video.
Additional add-on services start from just £30 + VAT.
Yes, VAT is included in all of our pricing. Our VAT number is GB983849160.
That depends on a lot of factors, such as how experienced you are, how many episodes you want to record, and the duration of the episodes.
Typically we recommend that you keep 15 minutes either side of your recording time. So if you’re recording a 1 hour long episode, 1.5 hours should give you a good buffer. The extra 30 minutes provides time to prep, set up, pack up, transfer files etc.
If you want to book multiple sessions in bulk, contact us and we’ll be able to provide some discount based on the quantity you need.
Within reason, you can personalise the space however you wish. Within the studio we have a TV for displaying your branding, and RGB controlled LEDs so you can use your brand colours to light the room.
If you want to bring in any additional props, printed materials or other branding, that’s no problem.
The maximum number of guests is 4 people for audio episodes. There are 4 seats around the table with 4 microphones.
For video episodes, this is limited to a maximum of 2 people.
No, we don’t provide this as a service any more. There is also no internet connection in the studio.
